Details of the march in each city

Nicosia

Sunday April 9th 2017

Starting at 11.00 from the "Arodafnousa" Palliative Care Centre. The walkers will be addressed by the President of the Republic Mr. Nicos Anastasiades, who will be leading the march with other officials and VIP’s. The march will be accompanied by the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Police.

Route: "Arodafnousa" Palliative Care Centre – Athalassa Avenue - Acropolis Avenue – Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre.

Return: Acropolis Avenue – Athalassa Avenue - "Arodafnousa" Palliative Care Centre

 

Fight Cancer: Join the battle

On Sunday, April 9th 2017 Fight Cancer: Join the battle event will be held at the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation in Phaneromeni area from 11.00 to 17.00. This is an all-day charity event for the whole family.

APOP Palechoriou Walkers will march from Palechori; the relay runners of the "Pericles Demetriou" Association will run from Dali and two groups of cyclists under the auspices of the Cyprus Cycling Federation - one from Kakopetria while the second group will make a tour of Nicosia, will all terminate at the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation at 14.30.  All walkers, relay runners and cyclists will gather doantions from the communities they will pass through before terminating at the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation.

 

Limassol

Sunday April 9th 2017

Starting at 11.00 from the Cyprus Anticancer Society’ "Evagorio" Day Care Centre (62 Nicodemou Mylona street, Limassol). The walkers will be addressed by the First Lady of the Republic Ms. Andri Anastasiadou, who will lead the march along with Members of Parliament, the District Officer and other town officials.

 

Route: Evagorio Day Care Centre – Riga Phereou – Roundabout junction of Limassol Courts - Lord Byron (Zoo) – 28th October str. - Makarios Avenue (Enaerios) – Roundabout junction of Limassol Courts - Griva Digeni - Homer Street - Nicodemou Mylona - Evagorio Centre  where march will terminate to be followed by festivities.

Also in Limassol a second march will take place as follows:

Sunday, 23rd April 2017 – A second march will be organised by the Police of the British Bases in Akrotiri. The march will start at 10.30 from British Bases Headquarters and will terminate in Trachoni village, where a cultural programme and a small bazaar will follow. The march will be under the patronage of the First Lady of the Republic Ms. Andri Anastasiadou, who will be leading the march.

Larnaca

Sunday, April 9th, 2017

Three marches will take place in Larnaca as follows:

First March

Starting at 11.00 from the Phinicoudes Platform (near HOBOS Café). The walkers will be addressed by the Larnaca Mayor, Mr. Andreas Vyras, who will lead the march with the Kition Bishop, Members of Parliament, District Officer and other officials of the Larnaca District. The march will be accompanied by the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Metropolis of Tamasos & Orinis.

Route: Phinicoudes Platform (HOBOS café) – Athens Avenue - Atene – Pavlou  Valsamaki – Nicolaou  Rossou - Zenon Kitieos - police – Athens Avenue- Europe Square, Phinicoudes.

Second March –British Bases Police, Dhekelia

Starting at 11.00 from the Youth Centre, Dasaki Achnas.

Third March:

Starting at 11:00 Ayios Mamas square, Troulli.

Paphos

Sunday, April 9th, 2017

Starting at 11.00 from Paphos Town Hall.

The walkers will be addressed by the Mayor of Paphos, Mr. Phedon Phedonos, who will lead the march together with Members of Parliament, Mayors of Geroskipou and Peyia, The District Officer and other town officials.

Famagusta

Sunday, April 9th 2017

Starting at 11.00 from Derynia Town Hall.  The walkers will be addressed by the President of the House of Representatives Mr. Dimitris Syllouris, who will lead the march together with the Bishop of Constantia and Famagusta, Members of Parliament, the Mayor, community leaders and other town officials.

Route: From Derynia Townhall towards Sotera.  The march will terminate at the Christodoula Monument at Sotera Village square, where wreath will be deposited. 

The walkers will return to the starting point, Derynia Townhall by buses.

 

Polis Chrysochou

Sunday, April 9th, 2017

Starting at 10.00 from Apostolos Andreas church and terminating at the City Hospital. The walkers will be addressed by the Mayor Mr. Panayiotis Papachristofi, who will lead the march along with other officials of the District.
